4/7/2023 0 Comments Capricorn one movie trailer![]() I think it was basically Ernie and "that guy" that did most of the Voice Overs back then. I knew I could possible be wrong on that, but whoever the guy in the CAP ONE Trailer who did the announcing was, was truly great. I love the stunt photography on the helicopters and plane. "Lieutenant Commander Data, an AnDROOOOIIID." Ernie Anderson's thing was to say everything like it was sleazy, which made it fun: I loved seeing the power of Jerry's Great movie music really moving audiences to their feet and it was a revelation of how much Power his music truly had! The magic of Jerry's building up music and the visuals were truly heart pounding and I remember the audiences applauding and cheering countless times as the movie ended. I remember when we finally got the movie to show and the packed audiences went nuts at the end of the movie when Brolin is running to jump on the Telly Savalas' plane with Elliott Gould as passenger. But I sure can remember seeing the trailer in the theater where I worked and I couldn't wait to see the whole movie, based on that trailer! So much for "SPOILER ALERTS" in those days. That is true KeV! They really showed you a "capsulized" version of the whole movie in that trailer. I couldn't believe how much was shown back then. I take back all my criticisms of modern day trailers showing too much and giving away the whole film, cos my stars, that was a lot of the plot given away!! I probably haven't viewed that since the late 70s when I would have seen it at the Odeon in Liverpool.Ī favourite film of mine with a favourite score to boot. "THE WHOLE WORLD THINKS THEY'RE DEAD, AND THE ONLY WAY THE TRUTH CAN COME OUT, IS IF THEY LIVE LONG ENOUGH, TO TELL IT!" - Brilliant! He did so much great work doing Trailers and Voice Overs back in those days! He really made you want to see the movie. I believe the Trailer's "Announcer, Voice Over" is Paul Thomas Anderson's father, the Great Ernie Anderson. The CAP ONE trailer is just brilliant with Jerry's music! You gotta love in the CAP ONE Trailer at the end when Goldsmith's music is really cooking and fluttering (The BREAKOUT Cue from the score) with those awesome strings and the names of the Actors start flying towards us on the screen "SUPERMAN THE MOVIE" Style. The Original POLTERGEIST Trailer is quite wonderful too! They really knew how to do it back in those great old days! Check them out by clicking on his youtube name and it will bring up where you can see all of his videos. The person who posted the great CAPRICORN ONE Trailer has lot's of awesome vintage 35 mm Theatrical Trailers on his youtube channel. Movie trailers like that truly are a lost art! Peter Hyams' finest moment and one of the greatest action scores ever. Thanks for this! Thanks so much to the youtube poster williarob! On all of the DVD Releases of the movie they never included THIS Trailer. I even recorded the audio back then on a tape recorder, but having this now is so much better. ![]() I worked at a Movie Theater showing it on it's first run back in 1978 and remember when we showed this trailer.
